The first Lichfield cathedral was built in 700AD, it was a small Saxon church, this was replaced by a larger Norman building in the 12th century. 900 years ago the present Gothic cathedral was built, this took 150 years to complete.

The cathedral with its three spires is a well known land mark, services are held there every day. The cathedral and the close are well worth a visit.
